Blues vs SwampBats suspended in fourth inning due to rain
A downpour in the fourth inning left Muzzy Field in unplayable conditions and caused the game to be suspended
The defending NECBL champions came to Muzzy Field Sunday night for a cross division matchup with the Bristol Blues.
The Blues scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning to jump out to a three run lead. However, in the fourth inning the skies opened up and a downpour made the field unplayable and the game was cancelled.
Because the game only went three and a half innings, the game will not count. Per NECBL rules, a game must go five innings to have a final result. Play will resume from where it was last suspended meaning Bristol will still have their three run lead. The remainder of the game will be played out on a later date that has not yet been determined.
