Silverstein shutout propels Blues in 3-0 win over Keene

The Blues picked up a 3-0 win over the Keene Swamp Bats in a continuation of a game that was suspended from June 28. The score was 3-0 when the game was suspended, and that ended up being the final.
Justin Silverstein started the game on June 28 and picked up right where he left off. He went eight innings, allowing just three hits and racked up 13 strikeouts along the way. The Blues turned to Thomas Galusha in the ninth, and he picked up his fifth save of the season.
Although this was an anticlimactic finish to the game, with all three runs being scored back on June 28, it was an important win for the Blues, as the Swamp Bats were only 2 ½ games behind them in the playoff picture. Bristol is now back to .500 with six games remaining in the regular season. As it stands, the Blues control their own destiny in the playoff picture and just have to have a good final week of the season to secure a wild-card spot.
The Blues will travel to Cardines Field in Newport on Friday night as they continue their postseason push.
